The MAGIC AC1 XIP RM provides the same functions as the MAGIC AC1 XIP, but has 19" design and an integrated power supply.
MAGIC AC1 XIP RM has an ISDN BRI, a LAN and an X.21 interface and supports the G.711 (3.1-kHz), G.722 (7-kHz) and ISO/ MPEG Layer 2 (15-kHz). Optional the ISO/MPEG Layer 3, standard apt-X, enhanced apt-X and AAC-LD coding algorithms are available.
From software version 3.000 upwards MAGIC AC1 XIP RM provides the so-calledISDN/SIP Auto Mode. Using this mode the system detects automatically via which line interface (ISDN or LAN) a call is received.
The system can be controlled via the front keypad and display. Alternatively, configuration and control is possible with the the MAGIC DC7/AC1 Windows PC Software or the MAGIC DC7/AC1 LAN Windows PC Software. The LAN software allows simultaneous monitoring, configuration and control of up to 40 Audio Codecs within a network. Individual systems can be dynamically selected for Audio transmissions. System errors are automatically reported and filed.
Both Software Versions are included in the delivery.
The LAN2 Upgrade extends your system with a second LAN interface. It can be used for control and alarm signalling via SNMP. However, it is not suitable for Audio transmission. The main advantage of the second LAN interface is the separation of the IP Audio transmission network and the management network. The functions of the interface can be configured easily via the Windows PC Software.
The LAN2 Upgrade is available for both new and already purchased systems. If the LAN2 Upgrade is ordered together with a new system, the second LAN interface is integrated in the hardware. For existing systems we provide the LAN2 Adapter which can be connected to the Extension Bus interface.
With the "AES/EBU Interface" Option, the digital Audio interfaces of the system can be used. The AES/EBU licence can also be enabled for systems that are already delievered to the customer. We only need the serial number of the system to generate a password.
Please note: To use the AES/EBU option for the MAGIC POTS/ISDN Telephone Hybrids/Telephone Hybrid System, the system has to be equipped with the optional AES/EBU/Analogue Module.
MAGIC Keypad Basic
For operation without PC, the external MAGIC Keypad Basic is available. The user interface is similar to the 15 kHz ISDN Telephone. The MAGIC Keypad Basic supports all functions of the MAGIC Audio Codecs and is connected with the RS232 Control interface of the Codec.
MAGIC Keypad Advanced
Alternatively, the MAGIC Keypad Advanced can be used for operation of the Audio Codecs without a PC. With the MAGIC Keypad Advanced, the integrated Audio Mixer (Option) can also be controlled and configured., which is not possible with the MAGIC Keypad Basic. Like the MAGIC Keypad Basic, the Advanced Keypad is connected via the RS232 Control interface with the systems.
15-kHz Audio Codec with a delay of ca. 250 ms. ISO/MPEG Layer 3 is more efficient than ISO/MPEG Layer 2 and provides a better Audio quality at low bit rates. The algorithm is also implemented in many Audio Codecs.
In the new Audio over IP standard N/ACIP TECH3326 ISO/MPEG Layer 3 is only recommended. Interoperability for IP connections is guaranteed due to the standard.
* Each MAGIC AC1/AC1 XIP System provides ISO/MPEG Layer 2 or ISO/MPEG Layer 3 in the standard version (as required). The other algorithm, respectively, is available as optional Upgrade.
For MAGIC AC1, MAGIC AC1 XIP and MAGIC AC1 XIP RM two apt-X Upgrades are available. The systems support the standard apt-X and enhanced apt-X low delay coding algorithms.
15-kHz Audio Codec with a very low delay of less than 10 ms. The Codec, however, requires 128-kbit/s for a high-quality Mono Audio signal and 256-kbit/s for a Stereo signal. Via ISDN only a Mono signal with 15-kHz bandwidth can be transmitted. Furthermore, interoperability for ISDN connections between systems from different manufacturers is not guaranteed.
In the new Audio over IP standard N/ACIP TECH3326 apt-X is rated as only optional. Interoperability for IP connections is guaranteed due to the standard.
The licences are issued per channel per Encoder or Decoder, respectively.
Identical parameters as Standard apt-X, however with Audio quality further improved due to higher dynamic and even less delay.
The licences are issued per channel per Encoder or Decoder, respectively.
15-kHz Audio Codec with a low delay of ca. 50 ms. The Codec provides a very good quality at low bit rates, but it is not very widely-used in the available Audio Codecs. Furthermore, interoperability for ISDN connections between systems from different manufacturers is not guaranteed.
In the new Audio over IP standard N/ACIP TECH3326 AAC-LD is rated as only optional. Interoperability for IP connections is guaranteed due to the standard.
- Complete remote system configuration
- Remote system access via your PC - world-wide
- Support less experienced users
- Full access to the ISDN Monitor
For remote control you need only a PC with an ISDN interface card and the MAGIC DC7, MAGIC DC7 XIP/XIP RM, MAGIC AC1 or MAGIC AC1 XIP/XIP RM system software. Against unauthorised access a password protection can be activated or you can allow access only from certain service telephone numbers which can be stored in the system.
And if you cannot find a solution: with your permission our technical support can access to your system via this function.
With one Remote Control licence all systems of the same product type can be controlled by a PC locally and remotely.
The licence key is stored in a USB dongle and therefore at least one free USB port on the PC must be available.
For the MAGIC DC7 XIP/XIP RM and MAGIC AC1 XIP/XIP RM Audio Codecs an automatic ISDN Backup Function is now optionally available.
If the main connection between two MAGIC Codecs drops out during an Audio transmission, the systems switch automatically to the ISDN interface and the codec which has been selected as „Master“ establishes an ISDN Backup connection with the parameters that have been configured in the software. The Backup Function provides many configuration settings with which the backup solution can be adapted to your requirements. You can select for example the time in milliseconds for which the main connection must drop out before the backup is activated. In this way, you can avoid that a backup is established because of very short disturbances. The maximum backup time as well as the time frame during which no errors may occur before the systems switch back to the main connection are configurable.
To make sure that the ISDN Backup connection is working properly, a scheduled or manually triggered backup test can be carried out via the software without interrupting the main connection.
ISDN Backup via external alram signal
If an existing primary path contribution (e.g. via satellite) is to be protected with an automatic ISDN Backup, MAGIC AC1 and MAGIC AC1 XIP can trigger the ISDN Backup via an external TTL alarm signal. As long as the alarm signal is pending, the backup path remains active. Via the configuration parameters all backup conditions can be adjusted to your requirements. For example, the maximum backup time and the time period during which the alarm signal is to be pending before the backup is triggered can be selected. Via the TTL or relay output an external Audio switch can be controlled.
