Ward-Beck POD27 SDI/AES Audio Muxer Ward-Beck_POD27_SDI_AES_Muxer

POD27 is a muxer designed to embed one group (two stereo channels) of AES audio into a SMPTE 272M serial digital video signal.  POD27 is designed to receive a 525i NTSC serial digital video signal transmitted over 75 Ohm coaxial cable (*625i PAL serial digital video signals, please contact the factory prior to ordering).  An adaptive cable equalizer in the input circuitry provides equalization for long transmission lines in order to ensure proper recovery of the transmitted, high-bit-rate digital data.  POD27 provides two serial digital video signals with embedded audio at its' output. The unit is designed to accept either 110 Ohm balanced or 75 Ohm unbalanced AES audio signals. The AES audio signals are sample rate converted to 48 kHz prior to being embedded in the digital video bit stream. N on-audio data such as Dolby AC3 or E will not be sample rate converted to the internal 48 kHz clock.  To embed AES non-audio data make sure that it is synchronized with the SMPTE 272M serial digital video input signal.  POD27 can selectively embed the AES signal into any of the four groups of the serial digital video signal.  In the CASCADE mode, POD27 may be used to add embedded audio into an unfilled group without disturbing audio that already exists in another group.   Attempting to overwrite existing audio in a particular group is not recommended. POD27 generates and embeds its' own EDH packets in accordance with the SMPTE RP165 specification.  EDH data that is present in the input video signal will be stripped out and discarded.

Factory standard all PODS are supplied in a stand alone desktop POD-PACKAGE.  PODS in rack mount assemblies many be ordered as a factory option.

RMK1 - is a single 1 rack unit center mount assembly

RMK2 - is a dual 1 rack unit mount assembly (if different PODS are mounted side by side, please specify which unit is located on the left, and which is on the right)

RMK3 - is a dual 1 rack unit mount assembly including a front and rear blank panel set.  (please specify whether the blank is on the left or right)
