Lawo mc²56, Outside Broadcast and Live TV Mixer Lawo_mc__56

Performance, pure and simple.

The highest quality can now be so compact.

The new mc²56 mixing console from Lawo offers superb performance in daily operation, with well thought-out design and intuitive user guidance; a console that features reduced control density and, in particular, a compact frame construction. Yet, with plenty of concentration on the ‘down to basics’, the new²56 console conforms fully to the proven mc² series in terms of quality and performance. The mc²56 is based on current Lawo HD core technology, and guarantees maximum reliability, functionality and DSP power.

The highlights of the mc²56.

Based on the existing mc² technology, the mc²56 offers the Lawo HD core with up to 512 DSP channels, 144 summing buses and a routing capacity of up to 8192 crosspoints. The complete functionality of the mc² series is available – including dynamic automation, as well as the transfer of snapshots and networking within the family.

The innovative and newly designed control surface of the mc²56 offers direct access to essential operating elements. Functions which are rarely used are handled via the touchscreen graphical user interface. This allows easy operation and a short learning curve. With different frame sizes and special flightcase versions, the console may be flexibly adapted to a wide range of applications.

Integrated Loudness Metering

Following an agreement on loudness standards, the ‘Loudness War’ has been brought to an end. And Lawo is already on the case to implement these standards: all mc² consoles can now boast integrated loudness metering, complying fully with the EBU/R128 and ATSC/A85 requirements — a world’s first from Lawo.

At a glance:

  • Loudness metering * - full signal control implemented in mixing console, following the standards of EBU and ATSC (*available with V4.14 SW Release)
  • AMBIT is a DSP module for the perfect conversion of stereo signals to surround sound
  • Proven and high-performance HD core technology from the mc² series
  • Reduced control density with excellent usability
  • Intelligent mix of hardware controls and touch screen operation
  • Compact size that facilitates flexible installations
