The MAGIC IP Audio System can transmit any number of Stereo Audio signals - limited only by the maximum bandwidth - via a LAN connection.

Each MAGIC AC1 XIP RM Audio Codec or MAGIC AD1 XIP RM Audio Decoder, respectively, is directly connected to the IP network via a switch. Each Decoder can decode any Encoder programme since the Encoders are able to multicast. If MAGIC AC1 XIP Audio Codecs are used on both sides, a bi-directional Audio transmission can be realised.
The Audio signals are transmitted as encoded signals. As coding procedures, the ISO/MPEG Layer 2 standard, ISO/MPEG Layer 3 standard and the apt-X standard
for very low delay are available. The Audio inputs and outputs are realised as analogue and digital AES/EBU interfaces. Each system incorporates a headphone interface for monitoring purposes. In addition to the Audio transmission, a transparent data channel (e.g. for RDS) is available for each coding procedure.
