Consultancy
Preco have worked with many organisations to provide them with their years of experience in the field of audio and video. Work has involved being an external impartial consultant on projects where help has been given on aspects of project management, budget management and contract management.
Design
Preco have worked with most organisations in commercial radio and televsion over the past 28 years and have been involved in the design work for many of them. This could be anything from a simple system design to a full size digital router system.
Installation
Preco also have a full installation team that can install the smallest piece of equipment right through to building a complete radio or TV station.
Service
Preco has always, and will always offer service and support on equipment that it has supplied. We also provide customers with on-site service and support contracts that include training and technical help during special events.
History
Preco (Broadcast Systems) Ltd was formed in 1983, primarily supplying and servicing professional reel to reel tape machines to broadcasters in the UK. As the main business was building and supplying recorders, Preco's name originated from Professional Recording Equipment Company.
Preco's customers include all the major organisations in broadcasting. The various departments within the BBC - General News Service, Radio & TV Outside Broadcasts, Resources, Consulting & Projects, Technology, World Service, London Control Room, etc.
The major radio groups - Global Radio, Bauer, Radio Investments, Wireless Group, to name a few, with a large number of other commercial radio stations. The News Networks like ITN, satellite channels such as BskyB, and a whole host of other Broadcasters, from small independents that are often one man bands to events organisations.
Preco also supply police and sports organistions, security companies, teleconferencing, and intercom systems. Preco is one of the largest broadcast suppliers in the UK and, as such, deals with most professional broadcast organistions at some level.
Terms of sale
The following Terms and Conditions of Sale shall apply unless otherwise agreed in writing between the seller, Preco (Broadcast Systems) Ltd (hereinafter referred to as The Company) and the purchaser (hereinafter referred to as The Customer).
TITLE AND RISK OF GOODS
Legal title in the goods shall pass to The Customer only when payment for the goods has been received in full by The Company. Risk in the goods shall pass to The Customer on collection by the carrier from our premises.
PAYMENT (NON ACCOUNT CUSTOMERS)
Payment can be made by cheque, credit card, charge card, cash, banker’s draft or electronic bank transfer of funds. Goods will only be despatched against cleared funds.
PAYMENT (CREDIT ACCOUNTS)
Goods are supplied on credit only to approved credit holders. Unless otherwise agreed, payment terms are nett 30 days from date of invoice. The Company reserves the right to suspend and/or terminate credit accounts that exceed this period. The Company shall be entitled to recover interest at bank base rate plus 8%. In addition The Company reserves the right to charge a flat rate administrative (nuisance) fee of up to £100.00 in addition to the interest.The Company reserves the right to review account status and credit limits without notification to The Customer.
PRICES AND SPECIFICATIONS
All prices quoted in this Price List are in Pounds Sterling and exclude carriage and VAT. Whilst every effort is made to maintain prices at the level shown in this Price List, they are subject to change without prior notice. The Company reserves the right to alter specifications, add and withdraw products without notice. All products are subject to availability, and all details should be confirmed by The Customer at time of ordering. In the event that a product is materially revised, upgraded and/or altered by the manufacturer between the time of ordering and delivery, the Company will notify The Customer and The Customer will have the right to cancel or amend the order.
Statement on WEEE Directive:- There is an additional waste disposal charge on all products of £30 or 0.5%, whichever is greater, which is not added to invoices. If you choose you can opt not to pay this and dispose of your product(s) yourself at the end of its life. If you would like Preco to dispose of your product(s) at end of life, then please send us the additional amount of £30 or 0.5% of the invoice value, whichever is greater. Product(s) must be returned to Preco at your expense. If we do not receive this amount within 7 days of invoice, then it us understood that you will dispose of this item(s) at your own cost at end of life.
CARRIAGE CHARGES
Unless otherwise agreed, we will dispatch orders for multiple products together to achieve the lowest carriage charges. Where one or more items of an order is not available and The Customer elects to have an order part-shipped, we reserve the right to charge for each individual delivery.
DAMAGES, DISCREPANCIES AND SHORTAGES
The Customer must notify The Company within seven working days of receipt of goods if damage or shortages are apparent.The carrier’s consignment note should be endorsed “unexamined”. Non-delivery of goods should similarly be notified to The Company within seven working days of date of Invoice.
RETURNS AND FAULTY GOODS
In the event that any goods are suspected of being faulty,The Customer should contact The Company’s Technical Support Department by telephone, fax or email, and a course of action agreed. Where it is agreed that the goods should be returned to The Company, they must be returned carriage paid, in the original packing or otherwise correctly packed for our inspection. In the event a fault is identified, we reserve the right to repair or replace the goods at our discretion. Repairs within the warranty period will be returned to The Customer carriage paid. Repairs outside the warranty period will be chargeable, and a quotation for the repair will be given by The Company to The Customer. In the event that The Customer should choose not to proceed with the repair, we reserve the right to charge for the work carried out in determining the nature of the fault.
WARRANTY
All new product is sold with a minimum 1 year warranty or longer in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty, covering parts and labour on a return to works basis. In the case of large or heavy equipment, or where a return to works is impractical, we will, at our discretion, make site visits for the purposes of repair or replacement. Product sold as “exdemonstration”, second hand or “as seen” will have a warranty period specified on a case-bycase basis.
